Rezan Kutlu's life took a profound turn in August 2022 when a car accident left her paralysed. The aftermath of this event reshaped her existence, leading her on a journey of self-discovery and resilience. Amidst the challenges, art emerged as her refuge, offering a cathartic outlet for her emotions and a means of expression for her trauma. Before the accident, she found joy in belly dancing and exploring new destinations through travel. These passions provided moments of freedom and self-expression, which she cherished deeply. She is a university student at the University of Westminster, where she completed her foundation year and is set to start her Fine Art Mixed Media course. Through art, she finds solace and closure, a medium through which she confronts the trauma of the accident and gradually embraces her identity, including her wheelchair.
